Hayley Kiyoko – TLA – Philadelphia, PA – June 14, 2018

After an hour of anxiously awaiting her arrival, Hayley Kiyoko didn’t disappoint when she walked on stage, rocking her black polo crop top, blue velvet jumpsuit, and yellow Nike air sneakers. She immediately set the tone by running on stage, screaming and welcoming her fans, which she tended to do a lot throughout the concert. She also made a point to thank her fans multiple times for being there. It was a sold-out show at the Theatre of Living Arts with a little over 1,000 people being there.

From the beginning her energy was contagious. As she began with her new single, “What I Need” (ft. Kehlani), the crowd immediately started singing along. You could tell her followers are loyal, as they went wild throughout the entire concert. Kiyoko continued her set performing numerous songs off her recent Expectations album, including some fan favorites: “Sleepover,” “Curious” and “Feelings.”

For those who don’t know – Hayley is a lesbian. She made it a point to talk about her experience and the fact that it was June, which is Pride Month. She even went so far to share with her fans that for the first time her mom congratulated her on being gay and wished her a happy Pride Month. Kiyoko had such a presence about herself, the whole performance was just so natural for her, and she gave off a swag, of sorts. All in all, Hayley Kiyoko gave a show-stopping performance and lit up the venue. It was evident that the bond with her fans is mutual.
