It’s almost Valentine’s Day and there is no better way to celebrate with your kids than with Winnie the Pooh – A Valentine for You, which includes Valentine themed classic shorts and some other Disney fun.

In “A Valentine for You,” your kids will get wrapped up in the story of Winnie and his friends seeing Christopher Robin making a Valentine for a girl. The gang becomes worried that Christopher Robin will not care about them anymore. They set off to find the love bug that must have bit him to make him smitten, figuring that one more bite would reverse Christopher’s love for the girl. In the end, they learn that there is enough love for everyone, old friends and new. “A Valentine for You” was previously released on DVD in 2004.

Also released in 2004, Rabbit decides to cancel Valentines Day in the Hundred Acre Woods since Winnie the Pooh went overboard the year before in “Un-Valentine’s Day.” All the friends are disappointed but agree and it’s not until a secret friend breaks the rules and gives Pooh a special Valentines treat that the fun starts and the Valentine’s celebration is once again making everyone happy.

Three Little Pigs” is a very short episode with all Pooh’s friends portraying the childhood classic of the pigs and the wolf.

One of the bonus features is “My Hero” – an episode from The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh which has never been released on DVD before. When Tigger thinks Piglet saved his life, he wants to repay him by being his servant and doing everything for him. When the arrangement becomes a huge problem, Tigger saves Piglet’s life, and they return everything to normal in The Hundred Acre Woods.

Another bonus is the “Catch the Love Bug” game that will offer loads of fun for the kids in the family. They’ll also find a set of six Winnie the Pooh Valentine’s Day cards tucked inside the DVD case.

Since “A Valentine for You,” “Un-Valentines Day” and “The Three Little Pigs” were all previously released together before on DVD, there is not much difference to the original 2004 version (as well as the 1999 VHS version) beyond the “My Hero” episode, the Love Bug game and the Valentines cards.

Therefore, while this DVD has lots of fun to offer, if you already have the earlier version, I don’t really know if it’s worth getting the Special Edition, but if you don’t have the earlier one… go for it!
