The Shawn Mendes World Tour stopped by in Philadelphia, as Shawn took the stage at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts playing to a crowd of 13,000+ people. This was one of the biggest shows on the tour. Opening act James TW started the show off right by performing some original songs and covers to get the crowd singing along.

Soon after, it was time for Shawn to take the stage. Mendes opened up with one of his more upbeat songs, “Something Big.” Throughout the whole show, the crowd was singing along with the ever so talented singer and really enjoyed their time there.

Now Mendes did get his start on the popular app called Vine, where he posted 6 second videos of himself singing covers and since then, he has made it a long way. Mendes has sold out just about every show on his tour and is getting ready to hit the stage at the legendary Madison Square Garden in September.

His powerhouse vocals really showed off his talents and even gave me chills. His setup was fairly simple, he switched back and forth from an acoustic guitar to an electric, to a piano with a band backing him and a loop pedal. However, the simplicity of him just standing up there with his guitar really best showcased how gifted he really is.

Mendes did some back and forth with the crowd, Shawn would sing one part then put his mic out to the crowd to sing the next. All of those people singing back to him put a huge smile on his face. He sang some of his older songs and some newer songs, including a few off of his upcoming album Illuminate, which will be out September 23, 2016.

Mendes closed the show with his hit “Stitches,” which had everyone singing along. Even if someone didn’t know any of the other songs, they still sang their heart out during this one. Overall it was one my favorite shows and I would go see him perform again in a heartbeat.
