UMG International Women’s Day Showcase – 2115 Studio Space – Santa Monica, CA – March 8, 2023

This month is Women’s History Month, and to celebrate, Universal Music Group hosted an intimate night of female acts at their 2115 studio space on March 8. Their International Women’s Day Showcase, presented by •1824 and 3point5, featured some amazing live performances and interviews with growing artists Frawley, Cyn, Rosemarie, and Em Beihold.

As an emerging singer-songwriter, Frawley sang her top hits including, “Hard Boy,” “If I Don’t Laugh, I’ll Cry,” and a cover of the single she co-wrote for Tate McRae, “Stupid,” that’s currently gone platinum. During her interview, she talked about this record’s achievement as well as her renewed but rough start to dating as a young woman in LA, ultimately saying to not give up.

Performing after Frawley, Cyn took the stage and performed her hits, “Drinks,” “I’ll Still Have Me,” and “Kiss Me” from the Netflix film He’s All That. Talking on women empowerment, she shared her fresh experience into motherhood and how it has affected her artistic journey.

Moving into the R&B genre, Rosemarie brought her unique style with “Henny Talk,” her newest single “Fool’s Gold,” and “Loner” coming out on her next EP “Rock Paper Scissors.” She spoke of her women inspirations, including SZA and Rihanna in addition to a sweet sentiment about her mother.

To finish the showcase, the talented Em Beihold took the stage and sang “Numb Little Bug,” “Groundhog Day,” “City of Angels,” and “Egg in the Backseat.” As an artist that struggles with anxiety, she shared her tips for anyone else that deals with it, especially emphasizing to get off of social media and take time for self-care.

UMG’s Women’s Day event was so fun and empowering for such a significant holiday. Thank you to the women artists for the beautiful show, and happy Women’s History Month!
