The Wrecks – Theater of Living Arts – Philadelphia, PA – May 16, 2025

It was an exciting Friday night as fans sold out the TLA for The Wrecks’ INSIDE : OUTSIDE tour. Though it was a rainy night, the weather didn’t stop fans from lining up around the block before the show began. With support from Benjamin Carter and Quarters of Change, the night was high energy from start to finish. The tour follows The Wrecks release of the first half of their album, INSIDE:. The Wrecks performed a mix of new songs and old hits, giving the crowd an incredible performance.

Up first was a performance from Benjamin Carter. This was his first ever tour, but with his confidence on stage you would never be able to tell! His set consisted of  “*Daydreaming,” “Finish The Job”, “Drowning (In Your Love),” “Backseat Driving,” and more. He got the crowd engaged, and his jokes between songs had the crowd laughing and smiling along.

Next it was time for Quarters of Change to begin. They brought a gritty sound and moody light to the stage. Their set consisted of tracks like “Tightrope,” “Chloe,” “Do or Die,” “Rift,” “Heaven Bound,” and my personal favorite, “Kiwi.” The members of Quarters of Change seemed to be having a lot of fun on stage, and the audience made sure to sing along to a number of their tracks.

After two electric opening sets, it was time for The Wrecks to take the stage! The Wrecks opened with some extremely high-energy tracks, “Sonder,” “Out of Style,” and “Always, Everytime,” getting the crowd off their feet and jumping right off the bat. The stage was adorned with clothes lines, plants, a couch, with their backdrop resembling blinds, the visuals aligning with the aesthetic for their latest project, INSIDE :. Each member came out in their own unique jumpsuit, their energy matching the crowds as they took advantage of every inch of the stage. Their chemistry on stage is always unmatched, and as much as their musical talent shines, their comedy and friendship dynamics are always another entertaining piece of the show to look forward to.

The Wrecks continued their set with “I Love This Part,” “I Didn’t Use To,” “Fvck Somebody,” and “This Life I Have.” One of the most entertaining moments of the night was when bassist Aaron Kelley took to slow dancing with lead singer Nick Anderson’s mom during the acoustic rendition of “Normal” off of their album Sonder. Anderson sat on the couch at the back of the stage to perform the song as fans laughed along to Kelley’s actions, with Anderson playfully yelling at the two of them to keep dancing throughout the track.

Towards the end of the show, The Wrecks came back on stage for a two song encore featuring two of their iconic tracks, “Freaking Out,” and “Favorite Liar,” at which point Nick Anderson joined the audience to sing along with fans.

The Wrecks never fail to put on a show that is high energy, entertaining, and full of incredible music. The INSIDE : OUTSIDE tour runs through the end of May, so be sure to check out a date near you!
