The Used & In Angles – Theatre of Living Arts – Philadelphia, PA – November 10, 2025

Post-hardcore emo band The Used celebrated their 25th anniversary touring in the most sentimental way for their fans. The band played a three night residency in each city with a different album performed in full each night. Night one was their debut self-titled album The Used, night two was In Love and Death, and night three was Lies for Liars. It’s not often that fans get to choose what night to hear their favorite album on tour, which is what made this experience so unique and special.

Philly was the last stop of the anniversary tour, at TLA. Jersey based band In Angles kicked off Night One of the Philly residency. With post hardcore sounds similar to The Used, as well as explosive riffs, tight drums, and emotional lyrics, this band brought on the nostalgia, setting the tone for the night. The crowd cheered and the room was packed by the end of their set.

The Used kicked off their three night residency with their 2002 debut self-titled album from start to finish. Singer Bert McCracken was very interactive with the audience the entire set, making a point to express thanks to the crowd that it’s their last group of shows on the tour and “You guys have made it count.”

One of the fun highlights of the night included their hit song “A Box Full of Sharp Objects” which led into the starting riff of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana. Most of the crowd knew all of the lyrics, and threw heart hands and arms up in the air while crowd surfing for nearly every song. Overall the night was full of smiles and nostalgic energy, ending Night One of the last few shows on a high note.
