The Driver Era – Hollywood Palladium – Hollywood, CA – July 18, 2025
It was impossible to miss the crowd’s buzzing excitement for powerhouse alt-pop duo The Driver Era at The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Enthusiastic fans showed up in full force, sporting their signature pink cowboy hats and proudly showing their handmade signs.
The dynamic energy felt particularly special, since this was the closing night of The Driver Era’s Obsession Tour, spanning six months and 50 shows around the world.
The Driver Era was formed in 2018, when brothers Ross and Rocky Lynch branched off to create their own band, after a long run with their pop group R5. They released their first single, “Preacher Man” in 2019 to high praise and have increasingly gained traction ever since.

This tour was aptly named after their most recent album, Obsession – their fourth studio album released in April, which embraces more of their introspective songwriting while homing in on their signature sound. The album features 13 songs that span across themes of love, heartbreak, and connection.
Ross and Rocky Lynch made sure to bring their moody undertones and infectious synths to the stage – delivering a magnetic performance that encapsulated the band’s evolution towards a more mature sound.
Fully commanding the stage, The Driver Era set the tone for a high-energy show early on with the fan-favorite “You Keep Me Up at Night,” highlighting Ross’s seductive and sultry vocals which were further elevated by Rocky’s slick guitar riffs and cool demeanor.

There were also plenty of moments for the audience to sway and soak in the cinematic visuals of the show, like in “Everybody’s Lover,” as Ross sat on a bench center stage, lit only by a single yellow spotlight, allowing the focus to be on his gentle and smooth vocals.
When it came time for the encore, it was clear the crowd didn’t want the night to end.
In a landscape that often yearns for authenticity, The Driver Era’s genuine passion and charisma is palpable, and you don’t want to miss out on experiencing the magic of seeing them live.
