Squid & Water From Your Eyes – Union Transfer – Philadelphia, PA – February 9, 2024


On Friday, Union Transfer welcomed Brighton-based band Squid to the stage for their tour in honor of their latest album, O Monolith. Joined by Water From Your Eyes on this tour, Squid gave Philadelphia a powerful performance.

First to take the stage was the New York-based Water From Your Eyes. They started their set with “Buy My Product,” “Quotations,” “Structure,” and “Barley.” Their funky instrumentals were paired with smooth vocals, and moody lighting, making for an incredible atmosphere and overall beautiful performance. They ended their set with “Adeleine,” “True Life,” and “14.”

Next to take the stage was Squid! The lights went low, and the audience cheered as the British band began their performance. They started with “Fugue (Bin Song),” “Undergrowth,” “Pancake Day,” and “Paddling.” Fans were immediately engaged. The crowd was jumping and moshing as they sang along to each song, and the hip tunes and powerful vocals rang through the venue. As Squid engaged with audience members, smiles could be seen throughout the crowd.

The chemistry of the band was clear, as their performance was flawless. The lighting changed from blue, to red, to green throughout the show, creating a fun and moody setting. Their set continued with “Narrator,” “Broadcaster,” “Pamphlets,” and “The Blades.” The energy remained high throughout the performance, with both the band and the audience.

Overall, Squid put on an incredible, fun, and lively show, giving Philadelphia a night to remember! Be sure to stream their latest album, O Monolith, as well as their latest single, “Fugue (Bin Song).”
