The first live action film by Mike Judge (Beavis & Butthead, King of The Hill) starts out as a blistering satire on the soullessness of the corporate world. A surreal nightmare of memos and requisitions and hectoring bosses, Office Space is enough to give any cubicle dweller the night sweats.
Add to that the fact that most of the stars are good but anonymous just adds to the sense of corporate blandness.
Too bad the last half hour gets bogged down in a pretty typical caper plot. It makes what had been a terrific film sort of limp into the finish line. (2/99)
