Cigarettes After Sex – The United Center – Chicago (A PopEntertainment.com Concert Review)

Updated: Sep 30

Cigarettes After Sex – The United Center – Chicago, IL – September 23, 2024

Cigarettes After Sex is an American indie band formed by Greg Gonzalez (singer / guitarist), with Jacob Tomsky (drummer) and Randy Miller (bass). Currently on their X’s World Tour, the band is crossing the globe while supporting their brand-new album, X’s. The new music is built with slow-burn, emotional, romance pop songs.

On Monday night, the tour stopped off in Chicago. Fans filled the seats and floor with nothing but excitement for a beautiful evening with the band. The lights went down and slowly one by one, each of the band members walked on stage and the fans started cheering. The angelic vocals of Gonzalez fill the room as they start their first song of the night, “X’s.” The screams would get louder and louder as the band played their big hits such as, “John Wayne,” “Cry,” and “Sweet.”

I believe the biggest moment of the night was when “Apocalypse” played through the venue. Fans sang and danced to the hit song while a disco ball shined throughout the arena for the last part. The band ended the night with “Opera House,” another amazing fan favorite for the band.

Cigarettes After Sex puts on an amazing show. Make sure you catch them on their X’s World Tour through November!
