Architects, Erra & Holywatr – The Fillmore – Philadelphia, PA – August 21, 2025
It was a packed house at the Fillmore Philadelphia on Thursday night, as Architects took the stage with ERRA and Holywatr for an incredible show on their 2025 North American Tour. As fans packed into the venue, the energy was palpable and the room was buzzing with anticipation as they prepared for a night of mosh pits, headbanging, and spectacular metalcore music.
Holywatr kicked things off, opening with a set that was perfect for getting the crowd off their feet, wasting no time in bringing the crowd to life. Their set consisted of tracks like “Lip Service,” “Hiding in Plain Sight,” “My Mom’s In There,” “Nail Polish,” and “Loose Ends,” each song bringing more energy than the last. As the crowd continued to file in throughout their set, they set the tone perfectly for the night ahead. To round out their set, they showed their gratitude for Architects bringing them on tour by performing a cover of Creed’s “One Last Breath,” bringing out J.T. Cavey, lead singer of ERRA, to perform with them.

As the room continued to fill up with excited fans, next to take the stage was ERRA. I’ve seen ERRA before, but somehow with each performance they continue to step up their game even more. Their set was stacked with fan favorites, including “Snowblood,” “Crawl Backwards Out of Heaven,” “Pale Iris,” “Blue Reverie,” “Scorpion Hymn,” “Skyline,” and “Gungrave.” A mix of clean vocals and heavy screams from J.T. Cavey cut through the venue, paired with strobe lights and vibrant colors, creating an incredible atmosphere. The audience shouted along while crowdsurfers came one by one, the mosh pit erupting throughout their set. With each performance, ERRA continues to set the bar higher and higher!
As the lights went low, the venue erupted as it was time for Architects to take the stage. The Brighton based metalcore band consists of Sam Carter (vocals), Ali Dean (bass), Adam Christianson (guitar), and Dan Searle (drums), and from the second they walked out on stage, the crowd went absolutely wild. They kicked things off with “Elegy,” going straight into “Whiplash,” two tracks off of their latest album, The Sky, The Earth & All Between. The mosh pits started immediately, and crowd surfers started pouring over the barricade.

Their set was a perfect blend of their older staples like my personal favorite, “Deep Fake,” as well as “Impermanence,” “When We Were Young,” “Royal Beggars,” “Black Lungs,” and newer tracks from the latest record. It created a perfect balance between heavy breakdowns and soaring choruses, providing a mix of everything for newer fans, and fans who have been there since the beginning. The production only amplified the experience, as blinding strobes matched with the breakdowns in the music, and flooding purple, blue, and red lights added to the atmosphere.
Sam Carter’s vocals were flawless throughout the full set; his powerhouse screams and clean belts filling the room. The passion of the band and the chemistry between each member was incredible to watch, and their performance never stood still. Sam Carter took full advantage of the stage, moving from one side to the next, matching the energy of the music. The crowd matched the band's intensity the whole way through – the pits were nonstop, and neither were the smiles and shouting of the lyrics.
Overall, I can say without a doubt that Architects is a band you do not want to miss seeing live. Their energy and musicianship are unmatched, and the weight behind their music translates beautifully on stage. If they’re coming through your city, be sure to grab a ticket, and make sure to stream their latest album, The Sky, The Earth & All Between!
