Cosplay Comes Out to Play at Comic-con New York 2015

As Comic-con NY 2015 rolled into the Javits Center, as it has done every year (getting bigger annually), it was made up a lot of people, panels and of course, lots and lots of cosplay.

As day rolled in on Thursday, the place seemed to begin to buzz as the 12 Monkeys panel set the tone, with a sold out crowd on the main stage.

As the weekend rolled on, there was a lot of attention being made with Back to the Future, as the iconic DeLorean sat just in front of the Main Hall entrance. Complete with lookalikes of Doc Brown and Marty McFly, who were changing the space-time continuum by giving out bottles of Pepsi Perfect.

As I was standing looking over the time machine the large crowd gave way to perhaps the best costume I had seen all weekend: the 10-foot-tall Hulk Buster, an amazing creation that could barely make its way through the front doors.

Continuing where they left off last year, the organizers continued super week, in many venues across the city, including the Hammerstein Ballroom where they featured panels on the hit TV show Mr. Robot and a talk with the cast of Ash Versus Evil Dead complete with Styrofoam chainsaws. And of course filmmaker Kevin Smith always shows up, simply talking his usual Hollywood babble.

We heard that this year’s Comic-con sold out in 10 minutes. Stay tuned for the 2016 edition, which is being held Oct 6-9th. It is sure to be another great time.
